Description:
During a hot summer in a small French town five adolescent boys experience the first feelings of sexual desire. Infatuated with Bernadette, they follow her and her lover Gerard everywhere. When their attempts to attract her attention fail, they start to play pranks on her but a tragic event will open their eyes to the real world.
François Truffaut’s first commercial film is one of the first to set the tone for the Nouvelle Vague movement in French cinema. This short introduces several central motifs in the director’s work that would recur frequently in his subsequent films and paved the way for the “400 Blows”.
