In El Salvador, the new Bishop speak out against the death squads and terrorist campaign against the government are used in an attempt to crush the guerrilla war being conducted against them. This is considered disloyality and the number of priests attacked goes up and even churches were closed by the government. Based on a true story, Romero was assassinated in March, 1980.
