A novel account of the adventures of real life Sager family. Travel with a truck convoy from Missouri to Oregon, things are going well for the Sagers, until father died of blood poisoning Sager after an Indian attack, and she died shortly thereafter from Sager pneumonia. The leaders of the wagon train decided to take them back, but the oldest, John (who is described by all adults as lazy and worthless), leads you to decide his intestines through the wilderness to complete the journey their parents started.
