Granada TV scored a hit with faithful delineation of David Suchet's nasty little habit of precision and fastidiousness of Agatha Christie’s Hercule Poirot to provide the most reliable explanation so far. Same production company also responsible for the previously very watchable series Sherlock Holmes with Jeremy Brett did not. Although Sir Peter Ustinov was colorfully entertaining performances in various TV films and dramatisations (`Death on the Nile Evil Under the Sun etc.) pompous Belgian detective who's always seemed too large gregarious and persuasive to be owned by all the little foibles of Christie's autobiography.
