“Whatever is here, is found elsewhere. But what is not here, is nowhere else.” This quotation from the Book of the Beginning puts forward the essence of Mahabharata. It encompasses numerous philosophies, the ways of life, political situations and is thus, considered to be a reflection of life. Mahabharata has a lot of political significance even today. As per legends, the tale of Mahabharata was narrated by Ved Vyasa and penned down by Lord Ganesha. The lord wrote it down with his own tusk. Ganesha is said to have written it only on one condition that Vyasa would never pause in his recitation. Being one of the epics of India, Mahabharata carries cultural significance as well. Episodes like Krishna`s advice to Arjuna and his revelation of Vishvarupa are separately compiled in Bhagavad Gita.
